Healthy Eating
My aim is to show children how to be fit and healthy by providing healthy, homemade foods and teaching them how to keep their bodies fit. I do this by offering the children a varied and balanced diet, combined with opportunities to enjoy fresh air and regular exercise.
I am happy to provide all children in my care with healthy meals, snacks and drinks, or to serve food provided by parents. I will encourage children to choose healthy options and experiment with new foods from other cultures. Children are also encouraged to help in the preparation of food to include the gardening, shopping, setting the table and preparation of the meals.
I am happy to discuss menus with parents and cater to children with food allergies and cultural/religious requirements. If your child has any particular favourite dishes or dislikes please let me know!
I will record what your child has eaten and approximate amounts in their daily diary. If you have any concerns regarding your childs food intake please do not hesitate to discuss it with me.
Fresh drinking water will be available for children at all times. I also provide other drinks including apple and orange juice and milk, but children will not be given fizzy drinks. Drinking water will be encouraged.
I am happy to support you if you are weaning your baby. I have a Beaba BadyCook and a blender in which I make my homemade purees or I can feed them any food you would like to provide.
I do not encourage children to eat sweets on a regular basis. However, I do sometimes offer sweets for special occasions, such as birthdays, cultural holidays or other special occasions.
